A book's bones, its intellectual structure, is found in interior typography.

The selection of typeface, leading, margins, folios, chapter headings--everything is seen by the reader almost subliminally.

I hate typography that screams, "Look at me!"
But I also know that how a book looks and feels has a powerful impact on way its message is perceived.

Does it aim to persuade? Entertain?
Provoke?
Inform?

Typography is essential to realizing those goals.
